I seem to have spent half the day trying to:
Elicit the PAC no. of the phone to take my number with me
Request unlocking of said phone - another highly dubious revenue generator

Finding which signal works best at my place - indoors and not leaning precariously out of the window

Being put on hold
Being told that I'm a premium customer and that there's a new widget to boost the signal - Why now? When I'm about to leave the network of course

And said widget is an admission that their coverage is crap, surely.
