Today I will mainly be attending more Council meetings.  This one Sheffield Town Hall. The locals here have forced the council to debate the closure of leisure centre by submitting a petition containing just over ten thousand signatures.

It won't make a blind bit of difference but it is worth it just to see the lying bastards squirm when they are asked questions by the public. eveilgrin:

Mr C has just tried to pay a bill over the phone to the local newspaper.

The receptionist told him that 'I can't take your payment over the phone, I am disabled and only have one arm, I can't hold the phone and the machine at the same time'. I don't know why but this sorry state of affairs has me in a fit of giggles. redface:

Clearly the newspaper are fulfilling their quotas  ::)

Our Personnel Dept once employed a bloke to be the evening receptionist and security guard at a Rank Xerox site.

He could not say Xerox (Pronounced Zerox) but insisted on announcing the place as X Rocks .... it didn't please the client much .... nor did the fact that he was deaf.

Now I'm all for giving those with a handicap a chance but if you know they are going to have to answer the phone perhaps a little thought as to their particular problems might not go amiss.  noooo:
