I will keep investigating....  I thought you would know.

It had markings on it, no RAF circles but it did have wide white bands on the wings, prominent like. 

Was very much like a Lancaster with only 2 engines though.

I'll get to this event one day.  I used to drive along the runway on a daily basis and luckily only once was there an aircraft on it at the same time.   angel1
