Oh yes, I can see the weight I'd lose running up and down the stairs going back on when I have meals there  lol:

I looked up things to do in the Lake District and all I could find were 36 walks round lakes?

Were you expecting to find desert camel rides?  rubschin:
A new business plan   Quick go patent it.

In my limited, biased and likely distorted view there really isn't too much to do in the Lake District but it is worth seeing.  We had great weather but couldn't be doing with all that walking crap.  Coniston was spookily quiet and still, almost as if Campbell had only died the day before.

Worth a diversion, not worth a trip imho.  Sorry Tipsy

You are entitled to your opinion and I think the company I was with was with you on the walking bit...

I liked Coniston and suspect there is much more to discover.  I think my Eldest and his GF will enjoy this area but will need accommodation in a much more remote part than the touristy bit I stayed in.  So much that I loved about this area.  I struggle with holidays in the uk but know that there is so much of it that I havent been to... yet.
It's better than I ever even knew.  They say that the world was built for two.  Only worth living if somebody is loving you.  Baby now you do.
