A pleasant day's 7 pin bowling has turned into total chaos.  I have become Nick 2

Oh dear  happy100 happy100  Do tell we could all do with a laugh after the day that we've had.  We do have a new business on the go. It involves a great deal of crap.  angel1
Well . . . . . .

It involves the lighting circuit that's been tripping the whole house RCD since Monday suddenly getting better when I try to fix it, a new gizmo that was delivered late having its power supply detonating with a huge bang that took the whole house electric supply out and for reasons we can't fathom suddenly the kitchen circuit becomes the all new one that wants to keep turning the whole house off  Then we discover that my beloved aged TiVo has been blown up by the power shenanigans, the all new higher power LED bulbs received today turn out to be dimmer than the ones they were bought at great expense to replace.

Through all this CWMBO is doing her second won't eat, shan't eat protest in a week (and her health is that fragile just one day could finish her off)

Then the phone rings and we discover my mum has been rushed to hospital for the second time in 10 days and I'm the only son available so we drive up, skillfully avoid the 1 hour jam cos some idiot has crashed in the Dartford tunnel spend 2 hours while the NHS farts around and then some stupid woman in a Merc makes a serious attempt to get us crushed under a truck - luckily the truck was smart and saw what she was doing - phew!

Somehow 'Nick 2' seemed to sum it all up

Oh dear.... happy100

Need any help with those electrics like...?  whistle:

one of them does and we've got power to about 80% of the house.  Last night was 'fun' with a total power failure at 1am.  Why is it that the power going off always wakes you up?

Oh I've just had to spend bloody ages tidying so the garage is safely accessible for electrician type in semi darkness - the amount of crap I'd strewn across the floor was shameful redface:

And will I be able to find anything anymore?   noooo:
Well, whatever, nevermind

The old style wired landlines will work as part of BT's operating licence involves providing enough power through the phone line to the house to run one in case of a power cut.
