Okay, connect laptop to a pre-amp then connect the pre-amp to the speaker. In theory that should be loud enough for what you would need, especially if you have maxed out all of the windows volume settings.  rubschin:

Laptop straight into amplified speaker sorted.... Thumbs:

*Note to self - Get misty to set embarrassing sound effects on Chimp Boy's laptop for startup and opening files...*  whistle:

Going from past experience changing the Windows startup theme to an embarrassing song or one Apey can't stand the computer won't be ready until the entire song has been played. Not that I've done that to someone who then unsuspectingly proceeded to boot up his laptop in a meeting with senior management...  whistle:

Well today we got CWMBO (Sammie) back on parole from the vets after an extra days treatment and seems a much better day than she'd had yesterday .  Ungrateful sod has stomped off under the bed in a sulk.  Luckily being deaf as a post she didn't hear what the vet said which could be summarised as  noooo:.  Still she's got a new medicine to try so not sure if she's on life 8 or 9.

What is certain is I'm £245 poorer.  Worth it imho.  This is of course going to end in more tears but hopefully not for a while

I figure that will make not much sense for those that don't do having pets.  Things I can't explain #17

Well, whatever, nevermind
