Nah, it's all better now  cloud9:

 noooo:
lol:

Depends where the heat shield it is.  Citroens used to have one between the hot exhaust and the plastic fuel tank  scared2:.  If it's nearer the front it's likely more an engine power fuel economy thing
Well, whatever, nevermind

On the Fiesta it was betwixt the exhaust and (metal) fuel tank too...

Must be a reason for it...  whistle:

I did a  Shocked: when the mechanic told me it was plastic.  'best' bit was the tank breather was bunged so the tank was being sucked into ever smaller sizes causing the bolts fixing holding the heat shield to it to drop out.  Did it make a racket.

A quick googly says some Ford Focuses (Focii?) have plastic one too.  I was told they're safer  . . . .

. . . . just as long as some twat doesn't remove the heat shield
Well, whatever, nevermind

[serious]

If it's near the front then not having it is likely just costing you power and money.  Engines work better the cooler you keep the air they take in
Well, whatever, nevermind

But there won't need to be a separate cremation so what's to wear the tie to?
Well, whatever, nevermind

Was the swan already injured before you got there?  rubschin:
