What’s gone wrong with it?

I had a Samsung Series 6 40" which is now obsolete.

The replacement is the Series 7 and I got a 43" - plug-n-play replacement.  ::)

Unfortunately, the new one won't play files that the old one was perfectly happy to play... So I have to either re-code everything or download buy new versions of programmes and films I want to watch...  noooo:

So, scarping off all the glue and back to the shop tomorrow...  evil:

Ah

But what can you get that’s current and will play those files?

As opposed to running a file conversion program
Well, whatever, nevermind

Good question...

But as I have about 1.3Tb of videos conversion is out of the question.

And these are not ancient files in obscure formats, even recent stuff won't play or says 'sound not supported'....  noooo:

Check that the LG has an Amazon Prime player built in.  There was some issue between them and Amazon and the Android operating system and Amazon Players got removed from LG machines

We have a 50" Samsung, no idea what series it is.  Bought it in Jan 2014 so could be series -3 for all I know.  But it works well enough (3D but not UHD)

Prime doesn't work here so meh...

At the moment I just need a tellybox that will stream files I have downloaded - like the old one. I have a USB stick full of files that played one the old one but not the new one so can walk around the shop and try them out...

Luckily, I bought it from the shop that has the bringitbackwithinaweekifyoudon'tlike it returns policy and not the slightly cheaper one with the fuckyouyouownit policy...  lol:
