Waiting around while BT finally install full fibre broadband

Which turns out to be a bit of a distapointment.  Hub has to go in the garage so actual delivered download speed through two walls to where I sit isn't that much faster '76.5 Mbps download, 48.9 Mbps upload' on the PC and less than half that on the phone

I now have to spend the rest of the day relinking everything back up to it

Is the garage on the same electrical circuit as the room your PC is in? If it is then you can set up powerline adaptors which should give a decent boost.
Going to try that but it's on a separate circuit breaker so not hopeful
Well, whatever, nevermind

If they are on different circuits then it probably won't work as there needs to be a physical connection between the 2 adaptors.

You may need to ask around for the instructions but if the BT home hubs are the same as their business ones then they are downgraded by BT so it may be possible to unlock extra channels and a far more powerful signal.

Getting 305Mbps at the hub, 20.5 on the sofa :-(

The architecture is a bit of a surprise, the fiber modem produces an ethernet output and the main home hub is then just used as a ethernet router and wireless hub.  So I might see if I can relocate that

It's a challenge

Amazing the effect of just relocating the homehub 1 metre higher has

Well, whatever, nevermind

Says the man that plays with locks

Anyway I have to make sure it's OK, I've committed to host Escalado by Zoom on Boxing Day and it requires at least 3 cameras plus accepting feeds in from the umpteen relatives and friends that say they are planning on dialing in

Well, whatever, nevermind

Oh yes but they have to be the ones made out of lead or it's just not real

It's a K family tradition.  Started with my grandfather, then my dad, then my brother now me.  Should I be  scared2: that they're all dead.  Was it the lead in the horses wot done for them?

Going out to do some panic buying  redface:

I'm assuming that the panic part is from the other shoppers when they realise that Shamble Claus is in town...  whistle:

You better watch out
You better go hide
Better not go out

The word came through from work earlier, we are closing after Christmas Eve for around 3 months. For the sake of my sanity I'm telling myself that it's an extended holiday that I've booked off.
