To be honest I think I may have killed the old machine because I had a refillable pod I was able to put my own stuff in. 
As much as I love my filter machine it took up a lot more space on the desk.
IMHO after years of experimenting and not a little £££ wasted, there are only two coffee machines worth having. A full Starbucks like machine (if you happen to have massive space and £££ to spare) or one like these that are simple, cheap and work brilliantly (but take time)
We bought one of those in Habitat in Maidenhead many years ago...
I can't remember exactly how it worked now* but after queuing at the cash desk the girl took our money and wrapped two up...
...we all sort of looked at each other in the knowledge that something was wrong but not wishing to do anything about it. We left...
We don't have either of them now, I wonder what happened to them...?
* thinking about it, I wonder if we took the new one we wanted to the desk but it didn't have a bar code so we took the display model too...?
