2nd attempt at buying telebox for us ... Thumbs:

Don't buy a Samsung...  whistle:
Why not?

Our Samsung Tele and Sound bar and Blueray player all work well.  A few counter intuitive quirks but all such have them

Series 7 onwards they removed the ability to play certain video formats. It was a bugger to discover when I 'upgraded' that a huge chunk of my library simply wouldn't play... MKV and AVI files among them.

I started a thread on the Samsung support forum and hundreds of people have reported issues and disappointment with their purchases.

It doesn't affect you if you are just pushing content through HDMI but if you have a hard disc or NAS that you want to play stuff from you'll find that loads of files that played on a Series 6 or earlier won't play on a Series 7 or later.
Ours must be a bit old then (think it's c 2015, well it does have 3D) as it plays all the video files we have on USB media fine.  AVI files are always an issue as it's basically only a wrapper and not an encoding as such so you can always find some embedded formats that something can't play.  IIRC MKV is the same.  Pisses me off that so many companies mislead over container format compatibility.

Yarp, MKV is also a container....

The problem with the Samsung is that they used to play everything I could throw at it and now they don't - seems a bizarre omission.

Luckily for me the shop I bought it from (Stephanis) has a 'return it if you don't like it for any reason' for the first week of ownership and I was able to exchange it for something that did play all of the files like the old one...  cloud9:

I blew up the Honey.

Yes really  redface:

So the honey what she has on her porridge has started going cloudy with the crystals that always come out of solution.  Nah bother says I and proceeds to fix it the usual way of sticking the honey jar in the microwave for 20 seconds and then inspect and repeat as necessary.

Stupid me puts it in and goes off to make, serve and drink coffee (well you have to make gestures) and forgot all about it.  The microwave didn't and seems after a couple of minutes its keep hot setting kicked in.  So an hour later I goes back to the microwave to give it another 20 seconds and there is a crumpled honey jar and honey all inside the microwave where it had boiled up and sprayed out the top.  Think I've got it all cleared up now.
