Well that was a fun shift.

One of our chefs decided to have a massive hissy fit when he realised that he had a job in a venue that would sometimes get really busy and he wouldn't be able to just piss around on his laptop for most of his shift. It's half term, we have 3 really popular films and so we are selling out screens. Genius that he was, instead of asking for more help he just pissed around and so when the managers started asking what the hold up was over food orders thus the tantrum began. Completely oblivious to any of this I start my shift to the relaxing sounds of him shrieking and calling the managers every name under the sun through the wall between the bar and kitchen before he flounced off with his nose in the air (I'm sure in his mind it was an angry manly storming out but I digress) and he isn't coming back.

So tonight has been spent with the rest of us either diving into the kitchen to help with the backlog or having to explain to customers either why we are having to cancel their meal order or why we can only serve screen snacks tonight. And we had to be professional while explaining. Unfortunately that meant I couldn't say that our recently departed chef was a useless waste of space who wouldn't recognise hard work if it came up dancing the Can Can and started smacking him in the face with a shovel singing 'busy shifts are here again'. (Maybe I've been watching too much Blackadder lately...  whistle:

Now if you will excuse me I've recently been given a bottle of this stuff and I intend to try it.................significantly  eastdrink048

Chorley and then the M6/M1/M25 nightmare part deux

Yesterday was a right fuckup not helped by a supposed 'leading edge' car Sat Nag that knew the M25 was closed clockwise and the M40 had a 40 minute jam but each time decided not to tell us until it was too late  Banghead

Ten year old Tom Tom in use today, it just works

On the positive side our first ever stay in a Premier Inn, most impressed.
Well, whatever, nevermind

White Hart Lane … a stadium tour.
It's better than I ever even knew.  They say that the world was built for two.  Only worth living if somebody is loving you.  Baby now you do.
