...then packed the whole lot up, put it back in the car and drove off...

I check the RAC website and find I can get identical cover for £84.
I call the AA to cancel and tell them why
“As you have been with us for 25 years we can offer you a renewal for just £84!”
I declined and said that this automatic renewal figure is a scam because some people will let it renew without challenge. Bye bye AA, hello RAC.

On the other hand it could be a case of the AA being familiar with your exploits while the RAC has no idea who you are..

I did the same a some years ago; only it was RAC to AA.

Now with Green Flag.

Green Flag is good 

Surely most insurers give cover like this for free.  NFU gives us RAC cover

Going to the DIY shop....

So ..one of the busiest work weeks of year ...usual mongs etc ...But Monday no water ...   ....so we fill bath up from tank on roof to flush bog etc..

Tues ..No water ..

Weds ..No water..

Yesterday..phoned about a 1000 different phone numbers (before mid day) ...spoke to 1000 people .who managed to swerve/pass the issue like a pro footy player to someone else ...

Now at this point ,I will explain ....they dug up the road exactly outside our house to fix a water leak a day before the water went off.....   but suggesting this to local village council was like trying to tell them their child is naughty ..

So we arranged for a plumber to come today silly AM (9am)....nice chap ..

explain story ...he turns on tap ....splutter ..splash ..We have water ...

He thinks my call to the "nothing to do with us local council" may have fixed it....

on the subject of preciously mentioned hole in the road ,they fixed the leak and filled in the hole with SAND......this is now redistrubuting itself...and blowing all round village ...
