I found the main stopcock earlier but the outhouse extension is on a separate supply. I finally found it behind the fooking washing machine. I have been drenched for hours  sad32:

So you can presumably isolate the problem area whilst leaving a water supply to the rest of the property?

Unfortunately I had to shut all supplies off this morning as the pipe that burst had been fitted by a previous owner who had failed to provide the extension to the system with a separate stop cock. I was not amused. Repairs having been completed you can be assured that it now has its own stop cock  cussing:
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

Correct. But the washing machine was mid cycle when I shut off the water. And of course moving it whilst full of water was tricky. Banghead Banghead Banghead Banghead

I'd suggest a complaint to your landlord but ...............................  whistle:

Ah ~ you see, the minute you let things move away from a business footing these landlords start to take liberties. It is her responsibility to get the man in  whistle:

No ~ just taking the p***, gently.  ;)

Seriously, was the leak the cause of the noise or is that another issue to be dealt with?

It was the distant sound of the header tank refilling, constantly, that alerted me as I am not in the habit of wandering the grounds at that time of the morning. Once I had shut off the water the noise ceased.
