I see we have a drug dealer in our midst

Reminded me of a phrase I've probably not heard for 30-odd years, "sine die". Thanks to

I now know what it means

The aforementioned new member (now banned) pasted twenty-two new posts this morning - all adverts for on-line pharmacies.   ::)

I've removed them all so don't bother looking!  lol:

I was telling a colleague yesterday of me losing one of my insulin pens, I'll tell of the grump as an aside.

I have a repeat prescription with this item on it, phoned my local pharmacist and explained I have the repeat but no signed prescription.  I use their pharmacy and have a 'loyalty' card stating that I regularly collect these items.  The doctors was closed so could I have one of the items and owe them the prescription, apparently this was only possible if i was a lazy bastard and got them to collect my prescriptions.  I asked the price to purchase one (as I would hand over ?7.20 not to feel like shite for the night) and was told ?42.

A bit surprised I offered to leave ?42 as a deposit and collect when returning a prescription the next day, to be told "we don't handle cash" as I heard the till ringing.  Tossers!

So, back to the point, my colleague couldn't believe the item was ?42 and chucked the named item into google.

People are selling them on eBay, seriously!

I've just put a repeat in for 10 items...

Should have asked on here. You don't live that far away and I too am diabetic. Too late now as I have started my last pen, due to collect more on Monday. My pharmacist closes at noon on Saturdays so this morning I could have helped.

Ta snoops, I use the novopen which has cartridge fills rather than a disposable.

In the end I just used one of the cartridges with a needle and my own plunger (screwdriver).  The dose may have been a little less accurate than usual but it did the trick...

Doses is more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules aint they?

tis all a balancing act but you generally know the dose required depending on your blood reading and what you intend to eat.  Having no real clue of the amount of insulin your taking changes the game somewhat...
