Next Sunday can indeed be called THIS Sunday, only this coming Sunday woule be clearer like.

I find using the werd 'THIS' can be used with utmost confidence, understanding and clarity, providing it's used no more than say  3 or 4 days in advance of the NEXT said day.

Next Sunday can't be this Sunday cos next Sunday is the Sunday after THIS one
