This is without doubt a stoopid question but why didn't you call them and let them collect the dog? They would have the right equipment, the experience and the transport and you would have a working wife instead of a patient.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

We'd have all that... and the dog...  ::)

There is a mahoosive problem with discarded animals here - Cypriots don't believe in Spaying or Neutering and simply discard unwanted animals in the belief that somebody else will find them and look after them. It is particularly bad in the hunting season (now) when dogs that don't perform are just left - often on the motorway. We passed eight bodies on the way to and from the airport on Sunday.

So there is no chance of any of the shelters coming to collect the dog... in fact you have to almost beg them to take them off your hands at times and they are often completely full...

I've seen residents borrow rental cars (with distinctive red number plates) to return dogs claiming to be tourists and flying home the next day.

Oh I'm not bothered ~ too old and tough to be of interest to any chef.

Going back a few posts Nick, you may travel light but you seem to travel very slowly. What train company services Lanzarote ? Perhaps Morecambe is more sensible (but not more Wise) ?

How is the police action ? Satisfying your uniform/violence hangups ?
