I totally agree 

A appreciate that in the likes of Dubai etc, with temperatures hovering around 35-40c, the track would dry out mighty fast, but a few dozen bowsers dumping thousands of gallons on the track just minutes before the start would lead to a fantastic spectacle initially.
No doubt the 'Association of Far East Tree Huggers and Preservation Society' would have a slightly different outlook on my proposal though.

The idea of racing only on a wet track would confirm my suspicion that motor racing fans are more interested in the crashes than anything.

Not so. Wet tracks make for a more level playing field - the superiority of any given machinery is negated to a great extent and simply leaves the skill of the rider/driver as the primary factor in the outcome.

Sorry Snoops, but whilst there may in fact be a bit of truth in your statement, the TRUE fans of motor sport want and need to watch fully entertaining skillful and close exciting race.
 A wet track will provide that as was the case today.

You'll have to bow to Moanio's and my superior knowledge on this matter on this occassion.

Shane Byrne on a crock of a bike (I think my old Triumph is faster) built up a lead of nearly a minute purely because he can ride in the wet. The others, on far, far superior machinery simply couldn't keep up. He finished 2nd in the race because his stoopid team kept him out too long when the track dried.

Skill and exciting wheel to wheel racing is what we yearn for, NOT the lucky one who simply leads a procession in the best and fastest car/bike /whatever.

The BTCC usually provides such enjoyment, as does the 24hour race at the Nurburgring that I attend every year....only 6 weeks to go!
