Hello
« on: July 09, 2007, 12:40:59 PM »
Just a quick post to introduce myself - and can you make sure that my usual is always in stock please? Oh, and another thing, none of these poncy tall glasses, I'm a tankard man! If this does become my regular (as well it might) then I'll bring my own in to be kept behind the bar! It's a rather fetching silver plated job with the House of Commons logo on it!

Cheers all.

Oh, and by the way, I'm old and I'm definitely peculier!!

Welcome, I think you can only get Bishop's Finger here.

Which is your dominant trait, Old or Peculiar?

Welcome!

I'm sure we could manage some of your favorite tipple. Might take six to eight weeks to order though.  redface:

Welcome OP  ;D

BarWench will more than adequately sort out your special tipple ordering I'm sure but if you do decide to bring in your own silver plated tankard please bring your own polishing cloth on each visit - we'll fill said tankard with drink willing but keeping it gleaming and shiney is down to you ! Mind you I'd of thought you'd want to hide that HoC logo - now if you'd said it was a HoL logo we might have been impressed ?!?

Six to eight weeks! Bloody hell, is that what you call service round here? I'll have to bring my own!

As to dominant traits, peculier (if spelled differently) could be classed as a trait, but I'm not sure about old - so Mort, I'll content myself with saying "Yes" - but not to the Bishop's Finger - I've already sampled Consultant's Finger and was not best impressed and see no reason to think that the digit of a cleric (albeit of elevated rank) would be any better, so, I'll stick with my usual ta.

But the HoL is in the process of being sent to the Knacker's yard is it not? Anyway, there's more profit in the HoC!

Please be so kind as to get the spelling correct Mr Derwin. Thank you.

I'm a bit unsure about the polishing our own bit though - that could be misconstrued! Point taken re-Growler, I had heard he had a polish fetish - Kiwis or something, but it could have been ostriches.

A bit of spit and polish never did no-one no harm! (who said my vocabulary was dodgy???)

I prefer the tall glasses with the sparkly umbrella that gets up your nose when trying to sip - and a cherry.

Welcome OP.   8)

I thenk you!

Personally, I have a problem with tall glasses - I can't get my nose in for a good sup - and before some wiseacre jumps in - I don't slurp it up my nose like an elephant, but having a large hooter means that I have to get a hell of a tilt on to drain the glass. O.K.? And never, ever, put cherries in beer.

I was aware of the non-standard spelling of the ale, not least because it is writ large on your avatar. doh:

The pun on 'peculiar' was an intentional way to imply that your very oddness could prove an asset within these Hallowed portals.

I hope you will prove me correct. rubschin:
