It was a gubbed generator from Ironbridge power station. They never did find out what gubbed it hmmmm  rubschin:

As an aside, when they delivered the new one it was bigger, so needed a longer trailer. It got stuck when it bottomed out in a dip and the road was closed for seven hours until they could get another tractor unit to site to push it through, and we had to repair the road afterwards

A.L.E (Abnormal Load Engineering), the transport company. They took account of the bridges, the overhead wires, the traffic lights, the horizontal alignment, the bollards, the bends, but obviously not the vertical alignment

Cranewatch .....day ( whatever ...have not actually been counting)

New machinery has turned up today in addition to the shiny , big, red crane.

Looks like a deluxe  meccano set down there now.

All the blokeys in the office continue to stop and stare and then glaze over  ::)
