I can just imagine what would happen if you were to do that in the UK.  eeek:

EA, DoE, DEFRA, H&S executive, local council officials officious, planning dept, HM cistoms and excise,  rozzers, neighbours, uncle tom cobbly and his seven cats, (I'm sure I've missed someone out there) they'd all be there screaming for your life savings, house, blood and 'ed. ::)

I've all but given up on my off roading business exploits now, ALL due to massive restrictions imposed by the afore mentioned arse wipes and landowners who have to obey their swinging demands.
'Your land' is NOT actually 'your land' to do with as you please (within reason) at all.

Oh yes. Ramblers association, oh, 'twitchers' and fishermen too. They ALL hate us with great unfathomable passion.

Mate of mine is a director of a pretty large and rapidly growing 'supercar driving experience', venue down in southern Shropshire.
The grief they've had from 'local residents (over 1 mile away) and the local council, beggars belief.
Noise abatement society are there on the perimeter to the disused airfield with the decibelometers on a regular basis.
Many court hearings and thousands in legal fees have resulted in them being allowed to carry on operating for now, with the proviso they keep the noise down by 'muffling' the exhausts.
Cost them an absolute fortune in custom made exhaust mods. ::)
The F40, DB9 and Galarado, Elise, Impreza, Evo's etc. all sound like Reliant Robins now. Banghead
Big power drops too.

I used to fly light aircraft in the UK...

We were always getting complaints from local residents about the aircraft noise even tho the freaking airfield had been there since before the war...

One couple moved in to a house called 'Touchdown' on the airfield perimeter and then complained about the noise - what the fark did they expect?  cussing:

They were all happy enough to walk their dogs on the field tho - we sometimes had to taxi around them....  noooo:

Worked for me ~ can't understand why the cop failed to pull him earlier rather than risk both their necks getting film of him. Several times the biker was well over the speed limit and should have been pulled over. Perhaps the cop was enjoying the excuse to open up his own machine and the biker thought the unmarked cop bike was another nutter offering a race. I'd have expected a good brief to have tried "entrapment" as a defence.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.
