I draped a load of washing on the line the other day (sans pegs  redface:) but it all blew off and landed on the lawn. I scooped it up and put it back in the washer. Unfortunately it came with a fine dandelion crop.  evil:

They are very clean dandelions though  angel1

I am disappointed.

That sounds quite plausible.

I like dandelions they make good salad, not sure that applies if they taste of Persil.
I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.

Not a good idea to try to replace the entire ballcock mechanism with using any tools  noooo:

How?

It is only a plastic float on a bar. Usually removable with finger pressure.

Ball cock assemblies can be bought from B&Q as a complete item. Simply remove old one and replace. Nylon nuts on nylon threads are the norm unless the cistern is over about 50 years old and has never been serviced. Undo the nut with your fingers. A spanner will probably chew it up.
If it is a matter that the inlet valve won't shut you can adjust it by the nylon screw, usually found near the top where the inlet valve is located. A kitchen knife or nail file is all you need ~ a screwdriver would be a luxury.
