Odd Menu

We are, I think, mostly agreed that here in the UK the weather is hot, sunny and very nice.

Is it just me or does anyone else find it odd that SWWLTBO has elected to take braising steak out of the freezer and plans a casserole for dinner tomorrow?

F*****G wummun baffles me  noooo:

The shops are groaning with fresh salad produce, there is home cured ham and cheeses galore together with a variety of dressings all sitting in the fridge waiting to be used thrown out. She has taken the kids off to a "working farm" for the day where there will be even more opportunities to buy fresh, wholesome, local produce ................ so she gets a pack of diced ASDA braising steak (best Argentinian mind ~ none of yer local rubbish  ::) ) out and plans to put it in the slow cooker for the whole of Sunday.

I despair.

 cussing:

Last night she said "What do you fancy for dinner/supper/tea?"
I replied .... "Does it matter what I say? It's Friday and you always serve fish on a Friday"
Her: "So you want fish then"
Me "Frankly I couldn't give a fat rat's arse because you will cook fish no matter what I say"

And we ended up with fish (I think)

The plate held a bed of over-cooked rice on top of which was the heated contents of a jar of Curry Sauce that contained a number of lumps. There was no obvious fish taste; in fact the lumps, which had the texture of old shoe leather and took as much chewing, later turned out to be some bits of coley that she had overcooked from frozen. When I asked what it all was she replied "Kedgeree".
We had a debate about what constitutes Kedgeree, Fish Curry and Shite.
My meal went in the bin. I made a cheese sandwich.
She ate her "kedgeree" and, by means of much self praise and isn't this nice-ing, intimidated the boys into eating theirs .... but since they hate curry she had given them rice and fish fingers (not a combination I would have served)
The THW had the rice with the curry sauce but no fish as she is still vegetarian.

This morning SWWLTBO and thinks she can cook has a bad case of the sh*ts. whistle:

Maybe she was trying to be sensible  ;D

If she was out all day then dinner would be ready by the time she got home without any probs. We also know that the British weather is not the most reliable of factors when considering our menus even though the forecast suggests one thing  occasionally ( only once or twice mind you) I believe they have got it wrong.

Careful sunshine. You may be in danger of having an original thought.
