I hardly think reference to Roger Daltrey in a bad opera answers my questions, does it now?

What's the best currency to take to Egypt? Apart from Egyptian Pounds, of course. Last time I was there, they liked Sterling, but now it's being devalued so much, is this still the case? Euros better?

Wherever I have travelled I have found American Express Travellers Checks (Note Spelling) in US Dollars to be acceptable. The dollar is doing well against all currencies at the moment so the rate you get will be good and they carry free replacement insurance.

Dollars are acceptable but sterling is still best. Personally I just took a huge wad of Eygptian pounds with some sterling. I spent the lot and had to settle the miscellanous hotel bill with a credit card. (beware a debit card won't work unless you've advised your bank in advance)

Cheers Unc. It's mainly for tipping the beer-bringers and sun lounger turners. I shall take some of both.
