Evil afternoon at work today  evil:- tomorrow is big day for redundancy notifications and setting of competitive interviews. Some utter utter utter utter sleaze balls are doing their best to 'ensure' they have a job at the end of this - their pride being no where to be seen  - but the knives in backs all too evident  noooo:

During a "take over" (hostile in nature) of my previous employers I happened across the Personel Director in the car park and suggested that she looked a little fraught. "How's it going 'upstairs'?" I enquired (as one would). She sat on the bonnet of her car, crossed her lovely long legs and accepted the proffered ciggy. "Short or long version?" she asked. "Short" I replied "Just a summary unless you want to go to the pub". "In short" she said "They are so bloody confused they have started stabbing one another in the front ~ and yes I need a drink". We repaired to the bar of a nearby hotel. eyes:

I once went for a job interview. One of the other candidates was quite  eyes:

The place was frightful, the interview went on all day and we both left at lunchtime without saying anything and went off to a hotel  eyes:

She said she had to be home by the time her husband got back at 6, so we had plenty of time, like  eyes:

I was bored. I couldn't do anything too noisy like, so I went out on the balcony.

The I had this idea. I thought i would trim my beard (with my new electric trimmers like)

And I thought if I did it out there all the hair would just blow away.

So I did it.

2 problems:

1. No mirror  noooo:
2. Trimmers on wrong setting  noooo:

For the first time since 1973 I have, um, no beard  redface:

I have one hell of a five o'clock shadow, but no razor.  cussing: cussing:

I look like a muppet. And I have a meeting in Holborn, like  Banghead

Brilliant - have a clap from me

Don't worry about the meeting - they won't know what you're meant to look like - the hair will grow back and in the meantime, with your new look, you can take on a whole new persona  - who do you fancy being today  rubschin:

It probably looks  a lot more drastic to you than it does to them.  The security blanket that has been your facial hair has been taken a way - you never know they may even be quite complimentary about it  8)
