I'm here but constantly interrupted by the telephone. The whole world (it seems) is phoning to object to the Village Hall being closed over Christmas and the New Year (Dec 24th to Jan 4th) and yet in ten years no-one has ever booked to use it during that period.  All those calling say it's not right that we should close but on enquiry from me (getting less and less patient with them) not one has actually wanted to book the bloody place. Just been out to get a turkey.

Bloody difficult to catch.

I actually had that job once  noooo: I had to rugby tackle them and grab their ankles (in 6 inches of turkey shit), then upend them and dangle them over a machine that cut their heads off  sick2:. Not pleasant. Especially as it was under a corrugated iron roof. In the Negev desert  noooo:

I'm sitting in a pub like and it's not empty!! It's quite busy in fact.
I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.
