Quiet today.... tunble:

I've been in Pafos like....

Thanks for the call,,,,,,,,,, ::)

 redface:

I went up to that new brewery like....  Thumbs:

They are apparently talking about putting up the prices to the public. Too many people are getting the booze direct (like yourself BM) and drinking at home, the local landlords are not selling quite as much and are losing interest.

Not a very good idea me thinks, it is too expensive for what it is in the pub. They spent loads getting the operation up and running and are trying to get their munny back too quickly. They need to knock it out cheaply in the short term, get people to become acquainted with their beers then slowly put the price up, then they will have a company that survives in the long term. Pendle Witches Brewery and Monroes both went down the quick munny making road and where are they now?  rubschin:

Still it is up to them, their business and all that. But the people I know will not pay too much for session beers at nearly double the price while we are in a recession.  noooo:

I dunno... everything is more expensive here in Pissouri like... Shrugs:

Two bars in the village are selling the same stuff for €3 and €3.50... I had bad pints in both last week because they hadn't let it settle... they are used to rolling in a boiling hot barrel of Keo, connecting it up to the cooler and serving immediately... ::)

Personally, I'd much rather buy direct at €2.25 a pint and get a great drink because I let it stand for 24 hours... If they put up the direct price I don't think that would force me to go to the pub and have a potentially dodgy pint while surrounded by winging expats and tourists...

I reckon the majority of tourists are happy to drink Keo when they are here and a large number of expats would be willing to pay a premium for a good pint...

That may work in Pissouri at those prices as long as the pubs manage to keep the beer correctly, in Paphos there are obviously many more drinkers and outlets where they need to be competitive. Not too sure if 'home drinkers' will be able to keep the business afloat though, especially if you have to go all the way up there to pick it up.  noooo:

I suggested they had a 'distributor' in Pissouri but they reckon they are going to start a Home Delivery service....

You are right with that idea.  Thumbs:

Not too sure it will be worth their while to deliver 1 barrel every now and again all that way.  noooo:
If you phone up and they say they cannot deliver for a week or so people will soon go off of the idea.
