I Have changed my mind!
« on: May 24, 2010, 11:59:00 AM »
Right I am a woman, I have the right, or so they say, to change my mind.  I am now officially GRUMPY.  I have just received a letter from my consultant that has a paragraph in it suggesting that 'this' might be 'in my mind'.

I am in a fury.  I know that there is something wrong with me. I was asked if I was anxious and tried to be truthful.

I fall over, at worst it hurts,( might show pictures to rival LL's bruises) at best it is embarrassing, does that make you anxious well yes on the whole I would prefer to avoid pain and embarrassment, normal I think.

I can no longer do all of the things that I used to do, does that make me embarrassed/anxious well, yes if I am trying to eat a meal in company and my hand shakes so much that I can't cut up my food or get it to my mouth in some sort gentile fashion.

My grandchildren arrive and I can't go on a day out with them because the first part of the morning is spent throwing up and they have to hear that, poor buggers and I may shake and twitch so much that without supervision I can't hold them/carry them/ look after them, well yes that makes me a bit anxious as well.

Part of this is in my mind I know that but I think that is normal. Please do not start labeling me as abnormal because I am having what I would think of as having normal reactions to events happening in my life. You professionals please don't make me feel mental, find out what the f***ing problem is and either treat it or tell me that this is how it is going to be so that I can start adapting.
I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.

I have spent 12 years telling the Doctors that there was something wrong with my heart rhythm. It started following a bypass operation and has ebbed and flowed ever since. At long last I found a doctor who was prepared to listen and consider alternatives to "Panic Attacks" "Natural Disturbances following Open Heart surgery" and "Reactions to Medication"
Thanks to him I have now undergone Ablation Therapy to remove the cause of the short circuit in the heart's electrical system (Oh yes, once on the table they found the faults!) and I no longer keep fainting, I no longer have the "shakes", I no longer fall over, I am no longer afraid to leave the house. Early days yet but I am getting there.

I am not saying your problems have the same cause as mine but there will be something causing it all. Search the internet ~ you probably have but I kept going back and rechecking until I found the exact diagnosis.

Don't give up Miss C ~ demand another opinion and remind your Doctors that you know your body better than they do.

Just a thought but you don't take any "Statins" do you? They can be a major cause of many of your symptoms.

PS They had me down as clinically depressed and treated me with all sorts of drugs. I kept saying "I am not depressed ~ just pissed off" but they wouldn't listen. I even endured 3 years of psychiatrists. The anti depressants (apart from valium which I still take) were another problem altogether and added to the symptoms.

Poor Miss C!

Fuck the doctors, find another opinion and another and another if necessary....

Doctors told LL that her aches and pains were in her mind... finally went to a BUPA clinic in the UK, spent rather a lot on tests but in the end a simple prescription of steroids has completely changed her life...

Mind you, she now has a spider phobia...  rubschin:

Very sore...  eyes:

She woke me at 2am to tell me that while collecting painkillers from the kitchen she spotted another mahoosive spider!  cussing:

She then expected me, having had a few beers the night before and been woken from sleep to climb on the same wobbly stool she fell off of three days before to squish it!

Get her one of these

Miss D could secrete it about her person and bring it out.

That looks disturbingly like a toilet brush handle. Once secreted it will never be seen again scared2:
