Far nice looking than that new XF thing, and the owner agreed with me.
Last of the PROPER Jags. cloud9:

Meanwhile, car of the show imo, and won its class too btw...

Jokingly offered him a straight swap.
He said he's always wanted a mk1 Festa, and he'd think about it. eeek:

I had one in '74. Teal Blue.
Probably one of the nicest cars I've ever owned.

They're worth an absolute gold mine now apparently.
That one woul;d probably fetch £7-9 k.
Better investmant than piggin' stocks and shares and other such boring crap.

Anyways, I'm thinking of nipping down to Malvern Showground, Worcs. next weekend, as there's not much on 'round here.
Mainly classic Fords.

I'll see what the wevver is doing first, as it's a 240 mile 'round trip.

Doesn't the Tipsy one live 'round there somewhere? rubschin:
She could make and bring me a cake like!

eeek:    eeek:    What? The All-Aggro? A great car? Didn't they bend in the middle when you jacked them up?

And what about that daft square steering wheel? They'd have been better if fitted with a bloody tiller!
"Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Well, someone had to say it!

I didn't have the square wheel - I had an early one and a late one....

Both were excellent - proven 'mini' mechanics and enough space under the bonnet to climb in and walk around!  lol: lol: lol:

Plenty of room in the back too - room for five adults....

I reckon if they'd given it a fifth gear and made the boot a hatch it could have been an excellent seller....

First one looked exactly like this: -

Then I ordered a Brand New ( Shocked:) mini Metro 1300S in Denim Blue Mettalic.... but they put the price up just before i took delivery and I couldn't afford it.... The stealer found me an almost new Allegro in the same paint and I had that instead... looked like this but with four doors...

I had a 1974 teal blue Allegro 1500 Super.
That had 5 gears BM. rubschin:

Reasonably reliable apart from a problamatic rear wheel bearing.

Nice car in my experience, extremely comfy with the Hydragas suspension, and the square wheel wasn't really an issue once you'd become used to it

Yes, the 1500 had 5 gears...

The 1300 was basically a Mini engine and transmission....

First car I ever had with 5 gears. I was SO excited at the time, I remember.  lol:

Nice mk3 for you's both anyway. cloud9:
Absolute stunner with a mere 38k on it.
Interior was just as tidy too.

There was another one there that was drawing the crowds in, in Daytona Yellow.
First glances it looked stunning, all spotless under the wheel arches, and the owner was frantically Autogleaming all day long ....in the sun. ::)

It was only whilst staring at it that I noticed the swage lines in the middle of the doors were not quite straight.
Crept up alongside it, leant down and looked along its side, and I tell ye, it was like a relief map of the Himalayas it had that much 'pudding' in it. lol:

Couple of my MeMo with the Castle in ther background.

Must go back there to visit the actual castle and groundsp proper like.
Looks really nice with adjoining and equally pleasant gardens.

Seen some really nice places this year.

Anyways, I'm going to the Malvern Showground next Sunday PROVIDING it's not pissing down.
Mainly classic Fords too, so might get a few nibs and bobs from the trade stands that'll be there.

Just done a route via the 'pretty way' as the Beast doesn't like motorways and traffic jams.
Keeps stalling when it gets hot in jams and becomes a twat to start then. Banghead
Going to nip the mixture down a tad to see if that 'elps like.

So, 114 miles of pleasant roads beckon hopefully rather than 129 of M6 and M5. cloud9:
