It is rare that I find myself defending one of Nick's assertions, but I do recall some Fords of that era had flashing orange (or ginger) ears for indicators rather than pop-out trafficators.

My sister and I sat in the back and had to whack the relevant side of the car to make them pop out...

Have to use the K & N Cone filter and sub-stack instead...  evil:

Just fitted the rod-change mechanism...

Only to discover that you can't fit the 5/16" UNF x 2" bolt that holds it to the gearbox casing with the exhaust manifold in place!  Banghead

So it all has to come off again, carb, inlet manifold and exhaust manifold....  sad24:
