I looked at putting an R1 in the front with electric reverse... is quite a simple fit, light, 150bhp and sequential gearbox....  Thumbs:

Could be a bit "light" on torque though. Now a Hayabusa engine...

You can put a 'busa in the back... But I wanted FWD...

There is an aftermarket subframe that just accepts an R1 engine in the front - looks sweet....  cloud9:

Beg to differ PooPoo - rear drive is way more fun to drive. No chronic understeer, no torque steer just better all round.

Would make a cracking "drifter" I reckon     cloud9:

Equally, if you stuff any kind of bike motor in to it, it's not really a mini is it?

In my book, unless what you're after is a restoration, then if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and makes quacking noises, the it probably is a duck but I wouldn't need a DNA test to prove it's "really" a duck.    (Wanders off in search of a comfy padded cell . . . . )

Except that the R1 conversion (front fitted) retains both subframes, suspension, etc....

The Z-Car (rear fitting) removes the whole of the rear of the car, subframe, suspension, floor pan, etc. and the front has to be completely changed as the engine/gearbox are missing...
