When I started this in June 2010 I had no idea that I would still be working on it in 2013!

It was a MUCH bigger project than I ever anticipated...

I'm still working on it and there is still lots to do...

However, all of a sudden you are working away and look up and say to yourself "wow, it is nearly finished!"...

Today was that day for me!

She looks fantastic... happ096. fluffy is right in what he says you must be really proud of your achievement you must get a  cloud9: every time look at her... better than going out buying something anyone else can she's unique...

Have you had to buy a whole grille to purchase the center section  eeek: , or is that yours now completed?

No! It is actually an sticker! I got it from here...

So, I've just cleaned the whole thing up, removed the original badge (which was badly faded if you look at the old pictures) and stuck the new one on...

The GT badge is new... car didn't have one when I got it...

Had a bastard with that yesterday - it has two 'posts' on the back but you can't buy the clips that hold it on any more...

So, I cut an M3 thread on the first one and planned to bolt it on... but the second one sheared off...  Banghead

So I had to glue it instead...

Looks good tho eh?  Thumbs:

Mmmmmmmm. rubschin:

I'm struggling to understand how the center badge can be made into a flat sticker and then hold itself onto the uneven surface of the grille.

Sussed it now, no worries.

So that grille pictured up there^^^ IS actually THE one?

Talking about trim parts, I had to repair a metallic blue/grey inner door handle on a 2 year od Astra GTC on Monday.
The cussie 'claimed' the main stealer service dept had put a scratch on it and wanted it sorting. They denied it (and I believe them too tbh)

Anyway, the handle came off with a bit of a struggle, and I noticed it jhad a center insert in it.

Now the service manager claimed the handle was not available as a seperate part and therfore, if I didn't repaair it, it was going to have to be a whole new door panel for £200.

As the handle was only held in with screws, I doubted all this, so went to parts dept to check....and it was true! Shocked:
The undamaged insert was available though. ::)

Fixed it anyway, but the service manager still kicked off when I presented him with an invoice for a mere 50 snotters.

"HOW MUCH?"

"Tell you wha' matey, get a new door card next time" Finger:
