More binnies ranting
« on: June 03, 2010, 09:30:19 AM »
These useless tossers that empty the recycling bins come down our side of the road every fortnight at 07:00, waking up the neighbourhood making as much noise as is humanly possible.

2 hours later they come back in the same direction emptying the boxes on the other side of the road. rubschin:

This strikes me as being a total and utter waste of time and money, or is it yet another bloody useless turdy H&S directive p'raps, that they aren't allowed to cross the road in case they get run over, bless'em. Banghead

'tis a bit odd, you don't live on a dual carriageway by any chance?

No, just your normal housing estate type side road.

Have I got to ring the bloody council again to query this strange behaviour? I find them very tiresome to deal with.

Still waiting for various replies and action regarding pot holes/craters and leaving the clocks on summer time. Banghead

I did once get a reply about traffic lights changing to red as you appraoch them at night time though, not that it changed anything. noooo:

Perhaps the binnies are following a circular route that takes them down your road to access other roads and back up it again to exit the estate. They do the same to our High Street for that exact reason. They (The Council) argue it lessens the traffic delays by not hauling bins across roads and back again (they do have to put them back by the gates from which the collected them).
I find it hard to fault their logic and remembering that the binmen are on a performance bonus they are not going to do anything that will delay them or take them longer to complete their allotted task for the day.
Oh and the performance bonus is worked out not by how well they empty the bins but how many they empty.
I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

They come back down the road in the same direction, otherwise I could see and p'raps understand the logic in your suggestion.
Our road os generally pretty quiet, especially at 07:00

Oh yes, forgot to mention. They USED to empty all the boxes from both sides in one go, as they do the refuse bins now.

Yea. Mrs G showed me the article in the local toilet paper last night. eeek:

Very very sad. Been going since the 1800's IIRC.

Sheeples just can't afford it now, but apparently ?2000 a term is not actually that expensive...apparently, so Mrs G reckons.

I know I made enquires there for G jnr when he was 11. They needed smelling salts to revive me when they told me HOW MUCH.
I thought it was 2k for the full 5/6 years!!

Some folk obviously live on a completely different planet and solar system to me.
