I did mention the file and docs transfer - try it for data and settings, software will have to be installed piece by piece - at least then you have the option of junking stuff. The Mover software is never going to be a 100%, don't think anyone would be mad enough to give that assurance.

Windows Mail replaces Outlook Express, but I use Outlook.

As for Office, that's standard practice these days. prolly other stuff as well.

Did mention about patience as well.

Windows Mail is only in Vi$ta I think...?  rubschin:

Also note that the additional speed you are looking for will only be marginal as long as you are working via a dongle.

Whenever the word dongle is mentioned I always think of Rambling Syd Rumpo  rubschin:

Think it is buried somewhere rather like File Explorer.

Anyway as long as as has both boxes werking he can sort things out.

Dongle was a device originally plugged into a machine (started with mini-computers, PCs came later) that software checked before being allowed to run, a security key that you paid for as part of the licence - god help you if you broke/lost the dongle, software wouldn't run and supplier had you over a barrel money-wise.

Off topic I know, and useless as well.

Nick...

Download Open office - it is free and a direct replacement for Micro$oft office...

Then download Mozilla Thunderbird - it is free and will import all your Outlook Express stuff...

Then download Mozilla Firefox - it is free and much better than Internet Explorer...

OK?
