So the VP view is that the bearings are fooked (car has done 75000) and that these are cheapish to replace. Costs anyone? I shall take it to the excellent, if scruffy, Norman Hand in the morning.
Growler informed me that it has alloy wheels with a locking nut but I can't find the key.
I have the key but it's covered in dead flies

It's stoopid. You have to keep the key in the car for wheel changing, like

Is your question mark key stuck hound?Have you seen the size of locking wheel nut remover on a Land Rover? It is larger than the key fob. It is frankly Hoooooge and weighs a lot. I keep it in the place provided in the car. We are talking a real deal here ~ not some twopenny-halfpenny job from Poundstretcher. The device to remove lockable wheel nuts on my car and the one on the wife's Corsa are a fecking great sockets. Even SWWLTBO would draw the line at adding that to her handbag.
Nobody would want your nuts
I shall let you know after Norman has checked it over. Growler informed me that it has alloy wheels with a locking nut. So at least the wheels are still on, which is a fooking miracle in Scouseland
