Latest protective mother rant thread...
« on: August 04, 2010, 11:28:33 AM »
Youngest daughter recently split up with her long term BF they had been together for two years she is nineteen.

He is a nice enough lad and they had some good times together.

I am not an over protective mother far from it but he has just returned from a lads holiday and posted loads of pictures on FB of him getting together with a load of different girls.  Tongues are involved.

Daughter is in pieces, she is miles away from me and all I can do id give her a virtual hug. It pains me to see and hear her hurting so much and right now I would like to poke out lads eyes with heated knitting needles and saw of his bollix with a blunt and rusty knife. I know that she will get over it and I know that we all go through it but  Explode: anyway.
I have always thought that the worst thing about drowning was having to call 'help!' You must look such a fool. It's put me against drowning.

Must be the day for it..... I have had calls from an ex today who has just found out his GF has been cheating on him. He is in pieces.

Don't know what I am expected to do or how much sympathy he expects we broke up because of his infedility.

But thats not the worse. I have had umpteen phone calls from his daughter this morning ,who I am still very close to, and she is getting all hopeful of some kind of reconciliation.

I have had to steer her very gently in the right direction and tell her it's not going to happen.  I know she just wants her dad to be ok but it will take a bit of time ...and for once I hope he does that.

They'll have made up and be back together next week...

In response to Miss C, teenagers are as resilient as they are thoughtless. The likes of Faceache just makes the consequences more direct and immediate.

To Miss D.: Ex's who want support when things go wrong are a pain in the arrras. Sympathy at arms length is the human response. Being any closer on their rebound will end up giving you a sharp reminder of why they are Ex.  noooo:

I mostly despair
