My take?

There's a certain surreal element with the washing machine (an inanimate object) behaving like a human/animal, thrashing about in it's death throes. It's a bit incongruous, even ludicrous. So there's a number of "comedy" elements all acting at the same time.

Very much my take Unc. The steaming fury for the first half and then the wild convulsions resulting in death... rather morbid and very amusing  ;D
