Missing Equipment
« on: August 04, 2010, 01:16:48 PM »
The last few days has been mental in this place. We are meant to hot desk but on each desk there is standard equipment including docking stations for laptops etc.

However of late , power cables have gone missing which has lead to others pinching their required equipment from alternative desks. I have ordered more equipment to replace whatever has gone missing but in the interim the problems are escalating.

I am getting to the stage of knocking heads together soon  evil:

After coming back from lunch I find there has been a further 'incident'  evil:

Except they have chosen to take the mouse off a workstation that belongs to the only Liverpulian in the team.

He has just sent round this email and is deadly serious  ....

To All,

Sorry to have to say that the mouse from the desk I was sitting at was removed whilst I was at meeting this morning…after setting up at 7.30 this morning
I left the office at 10.30 and returned at 12.30…to find the station I was working at devoid of the mouse..with my computer and paper work etc all set up…
I'm good for a wind up..but this is tantamount to theft….not borrowed/missing…taken on purpose…
Be bold and tell me if you did it..I'll re-educate you personally on what is the right and wrong thing to do ..if you  really need it
Be reminded that all you need to do is request from xxx to get you a spare from the cupboard..Do not take equipment from desks that are in use /live at the time..whoever was that stupid, do not attempt this again in the xxxxsection…never mind management asking you not to do it..If  I see you doing this from anyone's occupied desk you will be put right !! Stop this nonsense now…

 noooo: noooo: noooo:

I now have to have words with him this afternoon about the threatening tone of his email as someone has complained  angry041:

I think his anger's justified. Suggest you also tell the complainant to stop being a wimp and to give the mouse back ~ forsure it was that person who took it.

I know that it is the silly season but that is ridiculous. His anger may well be justified Unc but threats are somewhat OTT  Poor Miss D happy100

No ...but someone has just taken a picture of a mouse ( computer one) tied to a chair in the office.

They have imported that onto a Word document and put in best kidnapper block titles

" Please leave 75p by the photocopier by noon on Friday or the mouse will be returned to you in bits ( physically not emotionally ) "

They have left it in his in tray  - he is going to go ballistic when he gets back into the office

That's the way to respond to the e-mail, not some whiney complaint to the management.
