Just waiting for some our trnasportation to arrive ( horse and cart and ox and cart today
) to take us to go drive speedboats today
. What could possibly go wrong ?
Tomorrow we have an off roady trip thing ( Growler and BM I hope that is acceptable) through the jungle terrain - muchly looking forward to that.

Still having a fab time. Cracking thunderstorm yesterday ...the ground shaking sort
- but soon sorted itself out. It is most humid and hot here.
It was also Fidel's birthday the other day which is something of a national celebration here so hoooge parties everywhere. On the whole he is fairly idolised and the anti - american sentiment is still very much apparent. With Guatanemo being a very prickly suject indeed. Apparently it has the only McDonalds on the island ( but only for the American soldiers) and there are land mines around the perimeter to keep the Americans in and the Cubans out
The lack of choice in the shops for locals and tourists is startling. Not so much in Havanna but other areas in the country. Which on the whole is a good thing ...The Brat and the other kids are having to deal with the fact that they can't have any of their usual branded muck and just try others things.
Anyways sorry to interrupt normal service yet again ....hope you will forgive the intrusion
