Internet in the wilds?

What would I need for internet connection with no landline, or isn't it possible?

We use Vodafone at work. I borrowed one when I was in hospital. Works fine.

I am in a hotel and using a 1G Vodaphone dongle, cost £25 from Maplin £15 of which was top up.  It works great.  Last time I was in a hotel for 2 days it cost about £2 but the hotel would have charged £30 for 2 days. No monthly fee, no contract but you do have to access it once every 6 months or your lose your credit.

So. Mobile phone then?
Bit small and fiddly though, and isn't reading the screen difficult being so small?

Can't a full size computer or lap top be rigged up somehow, presumably through the mobile phone?

They plug in to the laptop/computer via a USB port.

I found mine to be faster than dial up but not as fast as my landline. If you can get a mobile signal it will work.

I got LL one for when she was in the UK...

the speed will depend on the signal quality where you use it... in Epsom we get a 3G signal and the speed is very good...

I think Vodafone have changed their T's & C's now tho - you have to use the credit within a month or you lose it... so it has been costing LL £15 (the minimum) per month...

Can't you have unlimited access like this thing is for a set fee?
