I've found some photos  eeek:

This is Fujiyama 1946. If I recall correctly Mr P (Snr.) flew a plane, probably a Sunderland, up to Japan from HK or Singapore after the cessation of hostilities and had a cameraman on board. No idea what the mission was but I remember him showing me these prints (Crown Copyright printed on the back) and not saying much about them. The others are of Hiroshima and Tokyo from the air... obviously....
I'll scan the others in due course ...  sad24:

This is a view of Hiroshima ... devastated.



This one's of Kire harbour in Hiroshima prefecture... a sunken battleship

Something about printed photos always makes you want to hear the whole story.  Think that we will get more of the story with the digital age.  I commented this weekend how I have loads of questions to ask my Mum and Dad now they are no longer here to answer.   ::)
