BTW in Dutch it would be something like "Het vlees van de ezel" which literally translates as "The flesh of the donkey" ..... I can't remember what it was in Flemish.

Indeed ~ I was stationed at Laarbruch for a while which is very close to the Dutch border and we did most of our drinking in Venlo (Holland)
Spent years going back for annual holidays in and around Venlo.
Favourite sport was watching German registered cars stopping for the drivers to seek directions from Dutch kids who, without fail, would send them the wrong way.
