Just keep a container of cayenne pepper (chilli powder) at home and add to taste

I got rid of the bug with Nyquil and Sudafed....

If you do try that combination ignore the 'may cause drowsiness' warning. Instead the warning should be 'Dont make any plans'  lol:

On Monday I put a "Repeat Prescription" request into my local surgery. I ticked all the items listed on previous prescription indicating that I needed them again. On Tuesday the doctor had not yet signed the prescription that his secretary had printed out. On Wednesday they had lost it. On Thursday they called me to say they had found it and it was ready for collection. SWWLTBO picked it up and handed it into Boots Pharmacy, then returned later in the day to pick up the drugs. When I checked the bag she carried home some items needed were not there. I phoned Boots and they read back to me the prescription they had received. The missing items had not been prescribed!
I called the surgery.
Receptionist ;"I typed in all you asked for"
Me: "You must have turned two pages at once then"
Receptionist: "Oh No ... The doctor has probably crossed them off"
Me: "Put him on the phone then"
Me: "Doctor ~ if I order a repeat prescription that includes blood test strips for use in my self testing blood sugar kit why would you allow me them but not the supply of needles that go with them?"
Doctor: "Did I .... Oh well, can you manage without?"
Me: "Look you said I should test blood sugar levels twice a day, that involves drawing blood from a finger ... or perhaps I should simply slit my wrists"
Doctor: "Ah, I take your point, I'll get the girl to print a prescription for you now"

This morning SWWLTBO trots into the surgery. "Yes we have Mr Snoopy's prescription but the doctor hasn't signed it yet"
SWWLTBO: "When will it be ready then?"
Receptionist: "Doctor's not in today"

My brother and I regularly take a pack of Dorset Nagas to a pub, where we will eat one each and then pass them round. We get a bit of a sweat on, but the others that have them seem to vanish...

Anyhoo, back to Man Flu. Praise be to "Beechams All in One" liquid. The directions say "do not take with alcohol" but I can confirm that advice to be bollox. After several Young's and 20ml of that stuff I can assure you that you fall into what is probably medically called a "coma" and then wake 6 hours later sans snot.  Then you do it all again, as I am now. Corking.
