Accidental phone calls

Most of us have done it. Over sensitive buttons or touch pads, phone in back pocket or wherever and sat on. Mistaken last number redials. Then, there you are, on the blower to someone but just not aware of it, so they are yelling at you down their blower and listening in between yells to your most intimate private conversations with your Mrs or whoever, oblivious that every word they say is being taken down in evidence of the peculiarities of their domestic life 

It can go on for several minutes until you finally stop trying to attract their attention and just hang up, like.

Checks mobile and sees the last person I called was Nick ~ cannot remember the conversation tho' 

Wouldn't have been intimate ~ we don't do intimate much and anyway we had Minor with us and were hanging newly cleaned curtains in the village hall.

I just told you ~ Hanging curtains in the village hall ~ sorry bout that, I normally lock my keypad but I had been using the phone to talk to the Hall Chairman and put it on a table until we had finished the curtains. Then picked up all kit, shoved phone in pocket and bundled lad into wife's car, got into passenger seat and she drove us home .... nagging about whether we should turn right and go home or turn left to collect Minimus from a Cub Scout event, pick up a KFC and then come home.

It's sending texts to the wrong people that is proving a nightmare...it (the phone)  really should ask you if you want to send to this , that , or the other person before it does send a text

It does (or at least mine does) but only once, in teeny letters ~ personally I think it should ask in a loud, strident tone if you are absolutely certain that you have both message and recipient correct, at least four times before it will allow you to send.....

An inbuilt recall system that would enable second thoughts for up to 24 hours after sending would be useful too just so that you can get it back before anyone sees it.

Better yet let's go back to writing proper letters that give time for reflection and careful consideration before the walk to the post box. The exercise would be good for us too.
