Sorry but I still find it a pleasure to sit at the side of a lake, river or canal and watch a float. Catching fish is secondary to the pleasure of the solitude.
Nowadays I only fish "for the pot" and we do eat what I catch. Knowing how to fillet a trout so that there are no bones is an art soon acquired. Home smoked trout fillets are yumster.
There is little in the way of coarse fishing in this area but even when I lived in the south I fished canals and rivers for pleasure .... and in the sea for eating.
How are you on shell fish? ~ No bones!
