That'll be the Police playing with their new toy then.

We have a similar problem 'cos the local force have one and it is based not far from here. they seem totally unaware of (i) the bloody racket they make and (ii) it costs a fortune to keep it in the air.
They once called it out to track down someone who had driven off from a garage without paying for ?20 worth of petrol FFS. Attendant called the police and gave them the car number and make, colour etc  so they launched a man hunt ~ ?10Ks worth of flying round after ?20 petrol ~ where are their priorities?
It really is a case of we have a toy ~ let's use it.
They could just as easily looked up the car at the DVLA and sent a bobby round to the owner's house and nicked him there. Would still cost more than the petrol cost but a more appropriate response I would have thought.
Excuse from the Police? We had the helicopter up anyway and it was a good opportunity to test the system.
Did they catch the drive-away ~ no ..... but the car was found two weeks later in Liverpool!  ::)

A bit ostentatious don't you think?
Some thing a little smaller is perfectly adequate to deal with a helicopter because they are so slow you don't need to be able to track them. Just use one of these and pretend you're shooting a pheasant ... Line up and then lead forward a little and BANG!

"Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Well, someone had to say it!

Aren't they all on danger money these days?

I mean, surely they must be annoying quiet-loving terrorists too with all that noise...

I've got that dammed helicopter overhead tonight keeping me awake.   evil:

There seems to be a fire or something next door and they keep circling and shining their bloody searchlight in my window...  I'm half expecting the army in for a nightcap any time now.  confused:

tunble:  It is all quiet here for a change, so quiet I am contemplating an early trip to bed.  whistle: Perhaps it was not me they were after last night at all.  rubschin:

Just a thought, about that fire which side of the road? scared2:

It was behind me and along the railway, Didn't see any fire but loads of smoke billowing up.
