Or see this as an excellent excuse to drink G and Ts until you drop. whistle:

TRAVEL SUMMARY
We advise against all travel to the Likouala province, bordering Equateur province in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), due to a large influx of displaced people from the DRC. UNHCR estimates around 110,000 refugees are currently Likouala province.

We advise against all but essential travel to the Pool region, as there is sporadic rebel activity there. This includes using the Brazzaville-Pointe Noire road and railway.  A train derailment on this line in June caused the death of around 60.

An outbreak of Polio has been reported in the south of Congo-Brazzaville, particularly in and around Ponte Noire. Cases have also been reported in Brazzaville. The outbreak is characterised by a high death rate, with large numbers also suffering acute flaccid paralysis (a syndrome related to polio). Whilst polio normally affects young children, the majority of reported cases and deaths from this outbreak have occurred in males aged over 15.

There is no British Embassy in the Republic of Congo. If resident in or visiting the Republic of Congo, you should register with the British Embassy in Kinshasa, DRC.

There is a low threat from terrorism.  But you should be aware of the global risk of indiscriminate terrorist attacks which could be in public areas, including those frequented by expatriates and foreign travellers.

Avoid travelling at night throughout the whole country.

Take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance before travelling.

My sister returned from a government sponsored trip to the Pointe Noire area a month ago. She had armed guards all the time. Her advice ;"No bloody way !"
