So far it's a total replay of the time before - 5 pints of Guinness so far. The difference this time, however, is I will not be meeting Miss D, thus safe passage to Sutton should ensue.

I am now in a deep conversation with the Polish Landlord of "The Stanhope" in Gloucester Road, about what ale is best. We seem to agree that "Old Speckled Hen" is right up there! Well played, Poland.

London Pride came in at No.2 - close run thing though. A good pint of Pride will always be No.1, but all too often it isn't kept well. Never had a bad Speckled Hen - both of us. And, in fact, one of the best pints of Pride can be had at "The Railway Tavern" in Carshalton - less than 1 mile from me. Too many green and white hoops for me there, though.
