I have to ask ........ Why?
It was lovely and all you have done is exposed a view over a lot of houses.
I s'pose the answer is that symmetrically it didn't quite match the other trees and LL told you to get rid of it.

Problem is that Pepper Trees shed a huge amount of seeds and leaves...
When we put it in it was smaller than this: -
As it has grown the sheer volume of the shite that it sheds every day has grown until the point where it was falling off faster than we could hoover it up...
Hence the haircut.
It will fill out again quite quickly....
