Morning all. Crisp + clear at Gatwick. 4 days of uber-overtime begins. 14 hours today and tomorrow. 15 1/2 hours Sunday and 13 1/2 hours on Monday. Corking!

Where did the expression corking come from to mean something good ? 

If a wine is corked it is ruined 

Confucius say Miss D is confuddled again .

Defined by various dictionaries as being "extremely fine —often used as an intensive especially before good <had a corking good time" ~ The first known use in this sense seems to be in 1895.
